Correction of the Lower Eyelid

Why?

Blepharoplasty of the lower eyelids enables people’s bags under the eyes to be corrected. Different from that of the upper eyelids, this intervention consists either of removing the excess fatty tissue, or of distributing the fatty tissue better, getting rid of the surplus skin and tautening the muscle.

The Intervention

Blepharoplasty of the lower eyelids is performed under local anaesthesia for about an hour.

The first technique mainly seeks to remove the fatty tissue.

The second possibility, called the Hamta technique, seeks to distribute the fatty tissue along the orbit, especially in order to lessen the black rings.

Result and Post-Operative Treatment

The patient can return home immediately after the operation.

Some swellings and contusions can appear.

The stitches are removed four to seven days after the intervention; social activity can be resumed after a week.
