The Macs-facelift or mini-lift

The Macs-facelift (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension), S-lift, soft lift or mini-lift is an advanced technique for natural facial rejuvenation by which the jowls are tightened and the cheek fold and neck are improved. The “mini” stands for minimally invasive facelift procedure: the scar is “mini” and so is the recovery time.

The Macs-lift is less drastic than the classic Smas-facelift* and yet it guarantees long-lasting results.

The surgery

When performing a Macs-lift, the plastic surgeon makes an incision on the front side of the ear. By this incision, the sagging subcutaneous tissue is tightened by means of a special inner thread which is then attached to the upper section. The extra skin is cut away and the wound is sutured. A subcutaneous drain is inserted to draw blood and other fluids from the incision site.

Post operative care

The “mini” in mini-lift indicates a mini scar and a mini recovery period. You can leave the clinic the same day as the procedure.

The head is bandaged to limit swelling and extravasations which will spontaneously disappear after a week anyhow. You can reassume your regular daily activities after a week.

A mini-lift has a permanent effect. The mini-lift does, however, not halt the aging process. Although further down the line you will still look noticeably younger than without having undergone a mini-lift.
