Endoscopic forehead lift

The expressions on your forehead say a lot about your state of mind, but sometimes they turn into nasty wrinkles that have nothing to do with the way you feel. By means of a procedure whereby the skin of the forehead is lifted, unwanted lines and wrinkles can be reduced, or even vanish completely.

After in-depth consultancy with one of our plastic surgeons, the exact cause of the sagging will determine whether an endoscopic brow lift is the best option to attain the required result.

The surgery

By means of an endoscope the plastic surgeon starts by examining the area that requires treatment. The first step of the procedure consists in injecting a specific liquid that reduces blood loss. Small incisions are then placed just behind the hair line. The blunt membrane is loosened and pulled up, resulting in the entire forehead being pulled smooth. Also the eyebrow is heightened and most wrinkles disappear. The blunt membrane, temporarily set with soluble stitches, will heal of its own accord. The procedure takes about 2 hours and is performed under general anaesthetics.

As the procedure is performed deep under the facial muscles and nerves, the traces of surgery will be virtually unnoticeable and the result will therefore look very natural.

Post operative care

A bandage is applied after the operation and it should remain on the wound for one week. It will take approximately that long for you to recover from the surgery. Refrain from physical excursion (specifically bending and lifting) for two to three weeks.

The big difference between a traditional forehead lift and an endoscopic forehead lift is that a traditional lift leaves a big scar as a result of an incision from ear to ear. The wound after an endoscopic forehead lift is very small in comparison, which means it takes less time to heal and the scars will eventually become virtually invisible.
